It’s morning! I went down to Lawson again and got myself a rice ball. That should be enough. Then, it’s time to head for the first lecture. I chose to attend the 外国人に関する法律問題 because I have heard great reviews about it. I did not make the wrong choice. It was indeed very informational. The lecturer, who works as a lawyer, gave us a very nicely structured talk on the issues foreigners face. It’s mostly very sad to hear about → Read more
First proper-ish day of MYC. The first lecture I decided to attend was 高度人材になるための資格取得 because I have heard many good reviews about it. Turns out that the reviews are true. I really received a lot of information from that lecture. The main bulk of the lecture introduces one to the various 資格 one can get to further improve their chances of getting hired in Japan.
Here are some of the exams that they have recommended.

Headed down to Chiba prefecture by train. My contracting organisation booked me a room in APA hotel, which was where the Mid Year Conference (MYC) would be held. Problem is the opening ceremony starts at 14:30, but all of us could only start checking in from 14:00. There was a snaking long line at the check-in counter at 14:00. Today, I awake in a different place than where I usually would wake up from. I have flown from my prefecture to the busiest part of Japan and took up lodging in Ikebukuro. I have actually stayed in this AirBnB, that I’m currently staying in, before. It was when I did my backpacking trip around Japan. Although it has been close to a year, I was still able to remember how to get to this place from the Yamanote line. I’m very glad that my memory has not failed me 🙂
This sharehouse has space for many people. There are currently four permanent dwellers, and one of them was someone who had been around since the first time I came here. I was glad to meet her again, and she actually remembered me! My friend from my home country, Icepath, arrived here one day earlier than me. We were separated right after the Tokyo Orientation, so I’m glad to be able to meet her again 🙂
We sang at a karaoke place from 12:00 all the way till 19:00. It was extremely enjoyable. I definitely want to do this again sometime.
The MYC (Mid-Year Conference) only starts on Monday, so 日曜日までに東京で enjoying myself させていだたきます。(in Tokyo until Sunday) 🙂
